Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters deeply to us. This document explains how CurrentLightFlux handles your data with transparency and respect.

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At CurrentLightFlux, we recognize that blockchain deployment education involves handling sensitive information about our students and their professional ambitions. This privacy policy outlines our approach to data collection, usage, and protection in compliance with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and international privacy standards.

We've written this policy in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your information. No legal jargon unless absolutely necessary.

1

Information We Collect

When you interact with CurrentLightFlux, we collect different types of information depending on how you engage with our educational programs.

Important Note: We never collect sensitive personal data such as government identification numbers, financial account details, or health information unless specifically required for scholarship verification programs and with your explicit consent.

2

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for specific, legitimate purposes related to delivering quality blockchain education. Here's the breakdown:

Purpose Data Used Legal Basis
Course enrollment and administration Name, email, payment info Contract fulfillment
Educational content delivery Learning progress, assessments Contract fulfillment
Communication about programs Email, phone, preferences Legitimate interest
Platform improvement and analytics Usage data, technical info Legitimate interest

We send educational content updates, course announcements, and program changes to enrolled students. If you'd rather not receive marketing emails about new courses or special offerings, you can opt out anytime through the unsubscribe link in every message.

Your learning data helps us understand which teaching methods work best. We might notice that students struggle with a particular blockchain concept, for example, and adjust our curriculum accordingly. This analysis uses aggregated data and doesn't target individual students.

3

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We're selective about who gets access to your information. Here are the situations where we share data:

Service Providers We Work With

These companies help us run our educational programs and are contractually required to protect your data:

  • Learning management system providers for course delivery
  • Payment processors for secure transaction handling
  • Email service providers for communications
  • Cloud hosting services for platform infrastructure
  • Analytics tools for understanding student engagement

When Law Requires It

We'll disclose information when legally obligated under Taiwan law, including responses to valid court orders, government requests, or investigations. We review each request carefully and only provide the minimum necessary information.

Business Transitions

If CurrentLightFlux merges with another organization or transfers ownership, your data may be part of that transition. We'd notify you beforehand and ensure the new entity maintains similar privacy protections.

What We Don't Do: We never sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties. Your email address won't end up on random marketing lists because of us.

4

Your Privacy Rights

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, you have significant control over your information. Here's what you can do:

Access Your Data

Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this in a readable format within 30 days. You can log into your student account to view most information directly, or contact us for a comprehensive export.

Correct Inaccuracies

Update your profile information anytime through your account settings. If you notice errors in data you can't directly edit, send us a correction request at info@currentlightflux.com and we'll fix it within 15 business days.

Request Deletion

Ask us to delete your personal information. We'll comply unless we need to retain certain data for legal compliance, completing services you've paid for, or resolving disputes. Even after deletion, some information may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days.

Object to Processing

Opt out of certain data uses, particularly marketing communications and analytics. Note that some processing is essential for delivering educational services you've enrolled in.

Data Portability

Request your data in a machine-readable format that you can transfer to another service. We'll provide this for data you've directly provided to us.

How to Exercise These Rights

Email us at info@currentlightflux.com with your request. Include your full name, the email address associated with your account, and which right you're exercising. We'll verify your identity before processing the request and respond within 30 days.

5

Data Security Measures

Protecting your information is something we take seriously. We've implemented multiple layers of security:

  • End-to-end encryption for data transmission using TLS 1.3 protocols
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive information including payment details
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Access controls limiting which staff members can view personal data
  • Multi-factor authentication for administrative access
  • Regular backups with encrypted storage in geographically distributed locations
  • Incident response procedures for potential data breaches

Despite these precautions, no system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required by Taiwan law, explain what happened, and outline steps we're taking to address it.

Your Role in Security: Choose strong, unique passwords for your account. Don't share login credentials. Log out after using shared computers. Report suspicious activity to our team immediately.

6

Data Retention Periods

We don't keep your data forever. Here's how long we retain different types of information:

Data Type Retention Period Reason
Active student account data Duration of enrollment plus 3 years Educational records, support
Course completion records 7 years after completion Credential verification
Payment transaction data 7 years Tax and accounting requirements
Marketing communication data Until opt-out or 2 years of inactivity Engagement tracking
Website analytics data 24 months Platform improvement
Support inquiries 3 years Quality assurance

After these periods, we securely delete or anonymize your data. Some aggregated, non-identifiable information may be retained indefinitely for research and program development purposes.

7

International Data Transfers

CurrentLightFlux operates primarily in Taiwan, but we use some cloud services with servers in other countries. When your data crosses borders, we ensure appropriate protections:

  • We only transfer data to countries with adequate privacy protections recognized by Taiwan authorities
  • Service providers in other jurisdictions must sign data processing agreements
  • We use standard contractual clauses approved for international transfers
  • Data stored outside Taiwan is encrypted both in transit and at rest

Currently, some of our infrastructure operates through servers in Japan and Singapore, both of which maintain strong data protection frameworks compatible with Taiwan's standards.

Children's Privacy

Our blockchain deployment programs are designed for adult learners. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years old. If you're under 18, please don't submit personal information through our website or enroll in programs without parental consent.

If we discover we've inadvertently collected data from a minor, we'll delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us should contact info@currentlightflux.com immediately.
